Sunday morning a Republican debate was held and right off the bat Gingrich came swinging at Romney. The reason Gingrich says for attacking Romney is "pious baloney" regarding his motives for running for office and his political history. Gingrich attacked Romney the whole debate from his previous running of senator and his dropping out. Also, going as far to say that Romney should not win GOP because he and Obama have too many similar views. Gingrich believes that if someone is to win against Obama they need to be completely different. In his exact words "The fact is, President Obama is going to have a very hard re-election effort. But I do think the bigger the contrast, the bolder ideas, the clearer the choice, the harder it is for that billion-dollar campaign to smear his way back into office," Gingrich said. "I think he will have a very hard time getting re- elected -- getting elected."
romney:"citizenship has always been on my mind" and that he's not running for president to "pay a mortgage" but out of civic duty. Gingrich also says that Romney is only running not because he cares about the people of America but because he is looking to further is career nd looking for a way to pay his mortgage. In response to Gingrich, Romney states  "I happened to see my dad run for governor when he was 54-years-old. He had good advice to me. He said, Mitt, never get involved in politics if you have to win an election to pay a mortgage. If you find yourself in a position where you can serve, well you ought to have a responsibility to do so, if you think you can make a difference." During the debate when Gingrich was not going off, Santorum was trying to put his two cents in. Santorum believes that Romney is not a good front runner for the GOP because he never finishes anything he starts. Santorum says that he is the best candidate to run for "the conservative principles". Santorum says the only thing Romney is good at , is to "bail out" and "run to the left of Ted Kennedy". Lets see how Romney can spin all the negative press he is getting before the New Hampshire caucus.
